The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is moving towards making renewable energies the primary source of power in the region.

As such, they are establishing the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which is expected to generate over 1 GW of photovoltaics and 700 MW of concentrated solar power.
