On September 11, 2018, the "2018 China-ASEAN Forum on Automotive Industry Cooperation" (CAFAIC) was held at the emerging automotive city of Liuzhou in Guangxi Province. This year's CAFAIC was sponsored by the China Association of Automotive Manufacturers (CAAM), Guangxi Department of Commerce, Guangxi International Expositions Bureau, and Liuzhou People's Government, and organized by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC). As an international provider of testing, inspection and certification services, the TÜV Rheinland Group (TÜV Rheinland) was invited to take part in the forum as a guest speaker to provide participating businesses with an in-depth market analysis and comprehensive overview of the regulatory policies.

Indonesia Appoints TÜV Rheinland as Accredited Testing Laboratory for Category L Automotive Wheel Products

TÜV Rheinland has been appointed as an accredited testing laboratory by the Ministry of Industry, Republic of Indonesia. The laboratory, located at Infinia Park Blok 92-93 Jl Dr Sahardjo No 45 Jakarta, is now accredited to apply and supervise the mandatory National Standard of Indonesian (SNI) testing for wheel products for Category L automotives (motorcycles and vehicles with less than four wheels). This appointment has been effective since September 12th, 2017.

With rapid economic development across Asia Pacific the automotive industry will continue to witness an upward trend in production of vehicles. TÜV Rheinland Japan starts an INMETRO testing service for automotive Lead-acid batteries in response to Brazil’s expanding automotive market

TÜV Rheinland Japan has started offering an INMETRO(the National Institute of Metrology Standardization and Industrial Quality of Brazil) testing service for automotive Lead-acid  batteries destined for the Brazilian market. Until now, Japanese battery manufacturers who want to export their products to Brazil have been required to forward test samples, in order to acquire INMETRO certification. The costs and procedures for exporting and importing the test samples and the time required for transportation placed big burdens on Japanese battery manufacturers. Our new service will make it possible for them to test their products in Japan, allowing them to test their samples much more efficiently.
