In August 2018, the Academy and Life Care Business Stream of TÜV Rheinland Indonesia, in partnership with FESTO, successfully held the "Industry 4.0 Transformation Expert Personnel Certification" program for the Research and Development Agency (BPPI) of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. The Head of BPPI, Dr. Ir. Ngakan Timur Antara also joined the event. This event was opened by Mr. Abdul Qohar as Director of TÜV Rheinland Indonesia.

The cybersecurity field of operational technology (OT) is buzzing as companies increasingly realise that their production systems, manufacturing plants, chemical processing plants, or industrial control systems are at risk from cyber-attacks. This realisation is fuelled by a big uptick in hacker interest as such systems are insecurely connected to the internet and compromising them is a change from stealing credit card information.

In response to cybersecurity concerns, companies often claim that their OT systems are air gapped and not connected to the internet — so they are immune from cyber attacks via this route. The bad news is that upon further investigation, in almost all instances, such claims are found to be incorrect. The reality is that connections abound and systems light up with data flows without the company even knowing about it.

TÜV Rheinland Announces New Standard for Blue Light Filtration Certification of Digital Device Accessory Screen Protection with Eye Safety Leader Healthe

TÜV Rheinland and Healthe held a press conference launching the “Blue Light Filtration Certification of Digital Device Accessory Screen Protection” at the Intercontinental Shenzhen Hotel. This new standard specifically provides consumers with a Retina Protection Factor or RPF value, an easy to understand numbered rating that designates the level of high-energy visible blue light being filtered from a digital display. Additionally, the standard and associated RPF value ensures that overall display color quality is maintained so that the visual experience is not impacted. TÜV Rheinland, a global leader in independent technical services, announced its Gurgaon, India, product testing lab has now been recognised by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), Government of India, to conduct testing of telecom equipment, under Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE). As part of an agreement made at the end of 2017 between TÜV Rheinland and US-based IoT platform and ecosystem developer Gooee, the globally active testing service provider tested the Gooee-IoT platform for data protection and data security requirements and certified it after successful testing.
