In November, 2016, TÜV Rheinland signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with the APEC Green Supply Chain Cooperation Network (GSCNET) Tianjin Pilot Center. The partnership between TÜV Rheinland and the GSCNET aims to explore, select and promote GSC best practices; encourage GSC voluntary actions; advocate the ideas, tools and products of GSC management; launch related training programmes, forums, road shows and other popularising activities about GSC; boost green trade; further facilitate green product Customs clearance; and strengthen international cooperation in this field.
What is GSCNET?
GSCNET was established in 2014 by interested APEC economies to address their needs and enhance cooperation on the GSC. A number of demonstration pilot centres have been identified within the economies to coordinate their endeavours and activities, promote the GSC and contribute to possible future action on information sharing, capacity building and demonstrations.
The Excellent Case Centre of GSCNET in Tianjin will demonstrate the ideas, measures and procedures for best practices from various industries chosen for their interactive experience. The Excellent Case Centre will interact with the GSCNET website established and operated by the Tianjin Pilot Centre, and the online green bidding, tendering and purchasing platform that is still under construction. The Tianjin Pilot Centre will cooperate with other pilot centres and institutions from the APEC economies, to jointly explore and demonstrate GSC best practices and cross-border bond transactions for GSC products.
